Our methods

Check the work.

We distinguish a recorded observation from a broader conclusion. Sources, versions, conditions, and limitations belong in the reading experience.

What happened, and what follows?

A test can show that one part of a task ran without establishing that the whole system is faster, cheaper, or more reliable. Our Lab articles keep the setup, result, and conclusion connected.

Keep separate tests separate.

A pilot and a later holdout can answer different questions. We retain their dates, conditions, and outcomes rather than combining them into a single flattering number.

Buying guidance needs an exact subject.

We distinguish a product configuration from an offer for that configuration. Commercial availability does not establish editorial quality.

Corrections stay visible.

Material corrections should explain the change on the affected story. A new interpretation should not quietly replace the evidence that readers originally saw.
